The Franklin Fire Company No. 1 of Mansfield Township invites the community to join them as they remember the events of September 11th, 2001 on Sunday, September 11th, 2011.

A 5 foot section of steel from the World Trade Center has been received and will be on display. In the center of town, at the intersection of Main Street and Atlantic Avenue, from 11am to 1pm, the volunteer fire department invites the community to unite with them in paying respect to those that have given their lives for our nation.

At 1pm (EDT) there will be a 1 minute National Moment of Remembrance including the toll of bells. A resolution has been passed that calls upon all of the people and institutions of the United States to observe a moment of remembrance, including— military organizations; veterans organizations; sports teams;  the Federal; State and local governments; police, fire, and other public and private institutions and businesses.

The hand crafted display, built for the bent steel beam, was a collaborative effort from staff and students at the Northern Burlington County Regional High School Applied Technology department.  After the 10th Anniversary this steel display will visit each of the local community schools and centers so that others, young and old, can see and feel a piece of American history and pride.

All neighbors, emergency service members, active and retired military men and women are invited to join the volunteer fire department in patriotic spirit to commemorate the events of 9/11.
